Guest: Sarah Laurel, Savage Sisters
Welcome to Recovery Stories Have Power, a Faces & Voices of Recovery podcast, my name is Chelsey Cusimano. For episode 5, I had the pleasure of interviewing Sarah Laurel, founder and executive director of Savage Sisters Recovery. Based in Philadelphia, Savage Sisters provides housing and street-based outreach for anyone struggling with or recovering from substance use disorder. Sarah and Savage Sisters have had a powerful impact in protecting and uplifting their community through their tireless outreach efforts, with over 31,000 people served, more than 19,000 naloxone doses distributed, and running weekly and monthly events in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, the largest open-air narcotics market on the east coast of the United States.
